Freediving is the first form of immersion practiced by humans. From the very beginning of humanity, it connects us to water—our natural element. Starting from the womb we are made to be in the water, although we gradually lose this ability over time.
When we submerge our face in water, a natural instinct known as the mammalian dive reflex activates a series of physiological adaptations in our bodies. This ability can be trained, helping us relax in water, slow our heart rate, adapt to pressure, and experience being like “water in the water”.

Freediving: a sport to overcome your limits
Freediving is a sport that can be practiced by anyone. Improving one’s performance, however, requires self-awareness, physical preparation, and understanding the body. In addition to the physical benefits, such as better respiratory capacity and muscle tone, freediving trains the mind: it helps manage stress, face fears, and push limits. It also reconnects us with our primal abilities, allowing us to explore underwater with the power of our breath.
I grew up freediving in the Adriatic Sea, with experiences in seas worldwide—from the Atlantic to Egypt’s Red Sea, Indonesia’s Flores Sea, and Malaysia’s Celebes Sea. I’m an SSI-certified instructor, but am always exploring new methods and teaching techniques.
Proposed activities
I offer certified beginner courses for those looking to safely explore freediving, as well as advanced courses for those aiming to dive deeper.
Private sessions are available, focusing on specific goals: preparation for contests/physical tests, performance improvement and stress management before competitions in various sports. When we discover the power of freediving and breathing on stress reduction, we begin to understand that our limits exist only in the mind.
I also organize special events, weekends, and trips dedicated to freediving and the discovery of our seas. I provide regular training in Gorizia, recreational outings in Croatia and other destinations, and sessions at the exclusive Y-40 deep pool at Montegrotto Terme.
